Swap Information and rules

What are ATC's or Artist Trading Cards, you ask? Do you remember when your kids or even your husband collected small cards with pictures of famous baseball players or Pokemon, well that is kind of what a artist trading card is. It's a small card the same size as one of those cards but where baseball cards are mass-produced these small cards are individually hand-made by artists like you and they are traded to other artists.

You could say you hold a tiny work of art in your hand. Now I heard about these cards when I arrived in the States but never knew how to trade them, but that's before I started blogging and it has opened a whole new group of would-be artists who are just waiting to trade... so get out you paints, pens, papers, anything and join  me in trading your pieces of art.

We are going to have a monthly theme. July is going to be "Sisters" as I met Debbie through the bloggerette sorority. If you would like to take part, send me an email saying you would like to join us. Be sure to include your blog address, mailing address , email address and if you would like your day , month of your birthday...

We would like to keep the swap quite simple so we will try and keep rules to a minimum, the aim of the swap is mainly to have fun!
We have one swap a month  where we swap three cards.  We swap with one person so you need to sent three ATC's

No duplicates but each one must different but in the theme of the swap.

1.Please, send out your ATC before end of the month. If you know you are going to be late getting your ATC to your partner PLEASE email them to let them know...

2. If you sign up to swap and then something happens and you can't follow through please email me at blissfullatcswap@gmail.com and your partner to tell them. I will find them a new partner... There is nothing more disappointing than sending out an ATC and then NOT getting one back.

If you sign up and then don't get in contact with me and your partner and do not send an ATC . Your name will be taken off the list and you will not be able to swap again with us.

 3. The swap is open to international participants.

4. The ATC must be 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches (regulation ATC size)It should be understood that group members will only submit their best in all swaps that they join. Art pieces submitted by group members should be assembled well and created using FIRM matt or illustration board. Each piece of art should be protected (ATCs should be sent in ATC sleeves rather than loose). Digital images should be crisp, not blurry (300 dpi minimum) and printed on high quality, heavy paper (cardstock, photopaper, etc...NOT typing paper.). Artwork should contain layering and embellishments. Edges should be finished (inking and German scrap borders are just two examples of finished edges). Artwork for swaps should contain digital vintage photo images unless the swap specifically states that another form (i.e., stamped or drawn image) is acceptable.

5. The ATCs must be sent in an envelope with the correct postage.
You may consider using a padded envelope if the ATC is thick or has embellishments on it.

6. You can use any media to create your ATC unless specified in that month's theme.

7. Please, make sure your ATC is sturdy enough to withstand posting, ATC holders or clear plastic covers should be used.
Use firm mattboard or illustration board as the backing for the atcs. Cardstock or cardboard is acceptable if multiple layers are used to make a firm atc backing.

Lightweight cardstock or scrapbook paper is NOT acceptable

8.Remember to post the ATC you receive and yours on your blog for everyone to admire!

9. Email two week before the end of the month to be included in the following month' swap.

 10. Become a follower of the blissfull ATC swap blog so you can see updates and news and reminders.
